Atlanta stands out from other cities as it's filled with diverse attractions, museums, and historical sites. This beautiful city has a vibrant local and civil rights history that millions of tourists around the world visit for the single purpose of showcasing its triumph over its past of discrimination, misunderstanding, and disadvantage based on race.
The landmarks in the city that shouldn’t be missed include the Herndon Home Museum where Atlanta’s first black millionaire lived and the Historic Oakland Cemetery where civil rights icons are buried with thousands of Confederate soldiers.
The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site is also a well-known destination for being the birth home of the civil rights movement leader while Ebenezer Baptist Church where he preached is also nearby.
